  • Binge eating is defined as
    • Eating in a discrete period (usually within 2 hrs) an amount of food considered “definitely larger” than most individuals would eat
    • Feeling a lack of control over the eating during the episode
    • Recurrent and inappropriate behaviors to compensate for the overeating including vomiting, misuse of laxatives or diuretics, fasting, or excessive exercise
